This is a unique VAUX Pub Original plan and architectural drawings, signed by Frank Nicholson and Mike Berriman. Plans drawn up 19th May 1986. Includes two sets of plans.

Now boarded up after a fight to keep the building, the old 1930s public house sits on a prominent corner plot opposite Linthorpe Cemetery. The mock timber framing to the first floor is often known as the ‘Brewer’s Tudor’, a style which was very common between the world wars and is becoming increasingly rare as pubs close down.

The roofscape is a significant design element, with the tall elegant corbelled chimneys, clay tiles and sprocketed eaves. The battered buttresses to the porches are reminiscent of the work of notable architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

The pub itself closed down before 2002 and has remained empty since.
